The Revolution of the Way of Thinking

Hi Everyone,

All of us have grown up in a world where keywords have become the basis for search and advertising. It’s everywhere and embedded in everything we do. Doesn’t matter the device or the software platform, the paradigm is the same. You hit spotlight on your Mac or the search bar in Google and type in some keywords or phrases and hope you find what you’re looking for.

In the world of unlimited computing power and artificial intelligence, is this the best we can do? Since when is computer science built on hope, guessing, or tricking people to click on something that wasn’t exactly what they were looking for …? Think about the absurdity of this paradigm, imagine asking someone a direct question and having them rattle off a series of answers, half of which are self-serving (advertising) and the other half are close to what you were looking for, but only if you asked the question perfectly. If that was a conversation with your doctor, would you see them again?

Why do we put up with Search that is inaccurate and at time disingenuous? It’s a rhetorical question. We do this because it’s the current paradigm, we’re all used to it. To drive real change, not just an evolution of technology, you need a new way of solving the problem. Immanuel Kant first used the phrase in the preface to the second edition of his book the Critique of Pure Reason (1787). Kant used the phrase “revolution of the way of thinking” (Revolution der Denkart) to refer to Greek mathematics and Newtonian physics

Tahzoo has been working in this space for the last 10 years, we know a lot. We know that the current search paradigm is insufficient. Our focus on personalization and the next best content has led us to think about different, novel – dare I say revolutionary, ideas about how to give people the answers they are looking for. Our software business is going to be focused on revolutionizing search, first and foremost. The combination of Ontologies, Semantic Web, Linguistics, and Artificial Intelligence will be the basis for our software business.

We’re going to need all the smart and happy people at Tahzoo to contribute to the ideation and novel solutions for Search. If you have an interest in any of these areas, start thinking, studying and reading about these domains. It’s an exciting time and we’ll be the company that brings it all together to change the world. What a nice way to “make millions of people a little bit happier every day.”

Let’s go be great!
